Today we went ashore and walked far down Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Since Daisy can’t go on the beach, we thought we’d see if she does qualify as a trained dog. Her tail hid the sign in the picture at the right, so she had to move and dance to the side. I suspect the people on the beach thought we were crazy, but in Ft. Lauderdale, there are lots of crazy people around so we probably fit in OK. Farther down the beach, on the sidewalk, a very “muscular” man who was covered in shiny oil, was flexing his muscles doing various “poses.” I didn’t take his picture, as I think that was what he wanted.
Daisy was a bit jealous when she saw a dog being pulled in a cart behind a bike.
We eventually made it to Starbucks at the Westin Hotel. Amazingly, for such a great Starbucks, with a patio across the street from the ocean, we’ve never had a problem finding a seat. Inside it’s quite large and also with empty seats. The view is fabulous. If it was six blocks down the beach, it would be packed. Perhaps one problem is that the prices are quite a bit more than at a regular Starbucks store. We won’t come back unless we only have the option of walking, as we did today.
Walking down A1A, one side is the ocean and the other side is a mixture of high rise condos and hotels, older motels, restaurants and bars.
